Crossing the Rainbow Bridge

It’s time to say goodbye to Norman

This is a difficult post to write. Honestly, I’ve been sitting on it for a while. Norman has been such a big part of our family for many years now. But now it’s time to say goodbye.

As you know, he had many health issues. Not the least of which was his allergies. We did our very best to keep him as healthy and happy as possible. But recently, his condition declined and it became too much.

I want to thank all of you for your support. For following Norman on the blog and social media. It’s been great receiving comments and hearing stories about your own pups. Hopefully we have been able to help each other a little along the way.

Our daughter is 4 years old and she doesn’t quite understand where he is and why he isn’t at the house anymore. She only knows he went to the vet and didn’t come home. Every time we drive by there, she says, “that’s where Norman is!”

She even wrote him a letter to drop off at the vet. She wrote it herself so it’s hard to read, but the top says “I love you Norman.” She’s the sweetest.

I do plan to continue updating the website and blog, including the newsletter. I know there are a lot of dogs out there with allergies and skin conditions that are very loved. And I’d like to do my best to provide helpful tips and offer any support I can.

Norman has allowed us to share this journey with many of you. And I’m grateful for that.

I don’t want to ramble on too much here. We love him and miss him very much. I wish we could have done even more for him, but I know Norman is in a better, more peaceful place.

I hope you and Murphy are having a blast together. Rest in peace.

Wow I am beyond sorry for your lost. Norman was and will always be a special little pup! My heart hurts hearing about this news. We love this page and all the advice you give. How old was Norman? My pup who has crazy allergies is 5, his allergies are only getting worst. We have done it all. All meds, all types of doctors. We have him ok right now with a free different remedies, it is 24/7 care. All the best to you!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my pup Roscoe last year to an autoimmune disorder that I thought was just skin alleries at first. I started following itchy frenchie on Facebook because of that. My daughter was also 4 when Roscoe passed. She mentions him daily. It’s hard to lose the fur-members of our family but they live on in our memories and the effect they had on those around them. Thank you for sharing Norman’s journey.
